The Bel Air Drama Company Presents The Little Mermaid — the Musical. April 14-16, 7 pm & a matinee at 2 pm on 16th. Tickets available for presale online at for $ 10 ($12 at the door). SPECIAL PRE-SHOW EVENT — Under the Sea Character Meet & Greets are scheduled for Friday, April 15 (5-6 pm) and Saturday, April 16 (noon-1 pm). Visit us at the Lutheran Mission Society Hickory Compassion Center for “Half-Off Fridays!” Our gently-used items (clothing, housewares, furnishings, etc.) are 50% off all day. “Romancing the Chrome” car show at Jarrett’s Field, April 16

“Romancing the Chrome,” the largest car show of its kind in Northeastern Maryland, takes place on Saturday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jarrett’s Field, across from the Jarrettsville Library in Jarrettsville. The event is family friendly, and admission is free of charge.

Bel Air Kite Festival, April 16

The Bel Air Kite Festival is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 16 at Rockfield Park near the intersection of East Churchville Road and South Shamrock Road in Bel Air. The festival is for kids of all ages and is features music and food, free admission and free kites, while supplies last. My Lady’s Manor Steeplechase Races, April 16

The My Lady’s Manor Steeplechase Races are April 16 on Jarrettsville Pike at Pocock Road in Monkton. The races benefit Ladew Topiary Gardens and include the My Lady’s Manor Steeplechase Race with a $30,000 purse, The John Rush Streett Memorial with two $15,000 purses and The John D. Schapiro Memorial with a $15,000 purse. The event includes bluegrass music, food vendors, merchandise tents and exhibits. Gates open at 10 a.m. and the first race is 1:30 p.m. General parking passes are $40 ($50 at the gate). Family parking is $60 ($70 at the gate). Kiddie Academy of Abingdon Grand Opening Event, April 16

Kiddie Academy® of Abingdon is hosting their Grand Opening Event, open to the public, on Saturday, Apr. 16, 2016 with an appearance by Spider Man, mini soccer demonstrations, tricycle races, moon bounce and more free family fun. Radio personality, Reagan Warfield from MIX 106.5 FM will emcee the event with opportunities to win prizes and giveaways while spinning kid-friendly tunes for dancing all day. The ribbon cutting will take place at 10:30 a.m. preceding the grand opening event for families, and it is open to the public. The local charitable group Breathe 379 is hosting a fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. May 4 at MaGerk’s Pub, 120 S Bond St. in Bel Air. The event features music by Super Bueno and 10 percent of all sale will go to Breathe’s operations and outreach efforts.
